The new Little Creatures Brewery. Geelong makes it onto the 'cool' radar!

Yes, Geelong suddenly got really Hip! I took a friend from Melbourne to the new Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong and their response was “Wow, you’d expect something really cool like this in Melbourne, not Geelong!” And she’s right, it’s quite awesome.

Keep an eye on Geelong, it’s changing.

Set in an old wool mill down by the Barwon River, they have done an amazing job at creating a very special place for both kids and adults.

With kids of my own, the two sandpits (one inside, and the other in the outdoor area) were of huge appeal – who’s kids don’t love a sandpit?

Apart from the sandpits the decor is relaxed and colourful…. and it’s enormous! With lots of large table for big groups…

And tables and stools around the bar area (well away from the kiddy sandpit space!)…

The menu has something for everyone. I enjoyed a delicious beetroot, pumpkin, spinach, walnut and goats cheese salad, while others on the table scoffed down chorizo or kranksy sausages in a roll, and marinated lamb ribs… and of course there are the trusty pizzas on offer (and a kids menu!).

They also host the Creatures Craft Market on the second Sunday of every month. It is filled with fun stuff to peruse and even some awesomeness to purchase if the mood strikes.

So check your diary, gather your buddies and head in to our regions major city to experience this new Geelong icon…
